Bird of Thoughts - Arup Naskar
Do you have those days, too, where you feel suffocated? you just want to pack your bags and run away to a place where no one knows you. you want to get away from everything that has been holding you back.
growing up, you had dreams – you wanted to change the world. you wanted to become a pilot, surgeon, or an astronaut. it doesn’t cost anything to dream, but it costs a lot to pursue these dreams. so you compromised, you gave up on your big dreams and settled for something achievable.
first-year into college, you just wanted to make money to – to save and buy that phone, that bike, that you always wanted, because you knew – your parents can’t keep buying you things. and somewhere in between, like Arjun, making money became everything. you just wanted a job.
you put that guitar away. you stopped writing poems. you threw away your brushes – you let yourself get stuck in a job that you don’t really like because it makes you money. but then, you feel caged.
you listen to Khaabon Ke Parinday when you’re on a road trip with your friends, when you’re escaping your other life that is filled with responsibilities. and that’s when you realise there are things bigger than making money and having a career. to be happy, you need to be free.
this song is that little push you need to take a little risk, to quit that job that isn’t helping you grow, to understand that you can’t always live up to your parents’ expectations.
you have regrets, but this song reminds you – you’ll always have regrets, worries, but in the end, you’re going to be okay – if you do things a little differently.
